This globally standardized OBD socket allows vehicle-specific data to be read, vehicle control units to be programmed and additional vehicle keys to be programmed. Car thieves use this open interface to defeat the immobilizer. The immobilizer is deactivated within a few seconds or a new key is programmed. For this reason, we recommend installing the OBD socket in a different location in the vehicle.
