Modern cars have the so-called on-board diagnostics (OBD) interface. This globally standardized OBD socket enables vehicle-specific data to be read, the control units in the vehicle to be programmed and additional vehicle keys to be programmed. Car thieves use this open interface to tamper with the immobilizer. The immobilizer is deactivated within a few seconds or a new key has been programmed. For this reason, we recommend installing the OBD socket in another place in the vehicle. With a cable length of 1 meter, you can install your OBD socket in the glove compartment, under the seat or in the center console, for example. We supply two different versions. The OBD-V100 is an extension cable with a protective cover for loose installation. With the OBD-P100, you can permanently mount the OBD socket with the bracket in another place in the vehicle.
